Moments of Pause | 2009 | C Type photographs | 65 x 65 cm
To photograph during the merging of day into night allows the banality of the everyday to become unfamiliar as the space becomes absorbed in a moment of pause. This photographic series explores the intimate and highly poetic nature of our interior domestic spaces. Areas that offer no noteworthy significance, spaces one would normally only pass without thought. Longer exposures are used to capture the seductive nature of available light, which in turn is suggestive of the passage of time. The stillness and lack of human presence communicates a heightened sense of absence, as the memory of the space is what remains.
